Rene Michaely, Founder

Rene is the founder of Mountain Interactive Inc. In the past 10+ years he has worked in a wide variety of roles including design (websites, logos, ads, newsletters and CDs), programming (web-based tools, Flash actionscripting, database and e-commerce), planning & strategizing, usability, technical support, search engine optimization, and website maintenance on approximately 100 different projects.

This experience enables him to have a deep understanding of all aspects of web-based development which results in products that are consistently on time and on budget while exceeding the client’s expectations.

Rene now splits his work time between business development, project management, usability, and client support. He is an avid outdoor enthusiast with an engineering degree from the University of British Columbia.

Karen Ng, Project Manager & Designer, Co-Owner

Karen Ng is the co-owner of Mountain Interactive Inc. She is the front end specialist, specializing in user interface design, CSS layout, information architecture and is responsible for all online visual presentations. She has over 10 years of experience working very closely with publicly traded companies, helping to develop their websites and online marketing strategies. She is very strong in communications, as well as organized and dedicated to see the project finishing on-time and on budget with full client satisfaction.

Karen was a Project Manager for Stockgroup Media for 8 years and head of their design department for 4 years. At one point, she was leading a team of 15 designers, working closely with the programming department to provide a wide variety of solutions that helped the clients to achieve their goals.

Karen has a double major in Economics and Accounting and a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Western Australia. She worked in Investor Relations in the mining industry for 4 years before going back to School to study Digital Design and Interactive Media.

Kevin Sullivan, IT Director

Kevin is the senior developer at Mountain Interactive and the technical lead on all major projects. He received his bachelor’s degree in Science from Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador as well as an IT Diploma from a private institution.

Kevin has over 10 years IT experience encompassing all aspects of application development and server configuration. He has coded for very high traffic sites and built a number of complex online stores. He has also been the key database person on some large projects involving the automation of importing and processing a large quantity of third party data.

Additionally, Kevin has extensive experience in developing successful marketing campaigns and has been at the forefront of search engine optimization and web analytics.

Joe McEnaney, Business Analyst

Joe received his bachelors degree in Psychology from McMaster University. Having a natural interest in technology, he returned to IT school in the late 1990’s. In the 10 years that followed, he has worked as a developer, team lead, project manager and business analyst. Working with a wide range of companies from banks and brokerage houses to dozens of newspapers throughout north America to smaller local companies, both public and private. Joe's main skill is converting business rules to technological requirements and vice versa. In his spare time, he enjoys travelling and scuba diving.
